| Theory Test |
| |
| You must pass your theory test
before you can apply for a practical driving test date. |
| |
| Your official theory test consists
of two sections. The first is a computer based multiple
choice question format of 50 questions. 43 or more correct
is required to pass this section. |
| |
| Following the questions section
comes the hazard perception test (HPT). A series of video
clips are shown on the computer monitor and these are
of actual driving scenes shot from within a moving vehicle.
The candidate is required to correctly identify within
a given time scale, a number of moving or developing hazard
situations. |
| |
| Both sections must be passed
at the same test sitting to gain a Theory Test Certificate.
| |
| Candidates will be given assistance
to prepare for their theory test and your instructor will
advise how best to practise and when you will be ready.
The candidate normally books this test for themselves |
